    Traffic Update
    Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento

    July 12 – 19, 2010 Traffic Update

We are excited to let you know that we moving forward on construction of the new Anderson-Lucchetti Women's and Children's Center for Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, located along 29th Street between L Street and Capitol Avenue.  We have completed the demolition of the old energy center and are moving on to foundations in preparation for steel erection in the Fall.  One very important component of our construction is the erection of two tower cranes.  These cranes will be situated at the north and south ends of our site.  The cranes are over 250 feet tall.

In order to erect these tower cranes, we will need to have temporary shutdowns and reduction of lanes of the adjacent streets from Monday, July 12th through Monday, July 19th.  The following are the details:

Monday, July 12th through Friday, July 16th - Capitol Avenue:
Capitol Avenue will be closed between 28th and 29th Streets from Monday morning, July 12th through Friday, July 16th at 9:00am.  Vehicular traffic will be detoured around this location.  Pedestrian traffic will still be accessible to Biba and on the south side along Regional Transit's maintenance facility.

    Friday, July 16th - L Street:
L Street will be reduced to one lane between 28th and 29th Streets.  We will be providing additional valet staff for the Buhler Building/Sutter Cancer Center to keep the cars moving through this section.

Friday, July 16th through Sunday, July 18th - 29th Street:
29th Street will be closed between L Street and Capitol Avenue from Friday evening through Sunday evening.  Vehicular traffic will be detoured around this location.  Access to Sutter General Hospital Emergency Department and patient/visitor parking will still be accessible from 29th Street.  Access to and from the south employee parking lot will be from 30th Street only.

Monday, July 19th - Capitol Avenue:
Capitol Avenue will be closed between 28th and 29th Streets until 4:00pm.  Vehicular traffic will be detoured around this location.  Pedestrian traffic will still be accessible to Biba and on the south side along Regional Transit's maintenance facility.

We realize this is an inconvenience and impact to our neighbors, patients, visitors and staff.  We are very excited to move forward with the Anderson-Lucchetti Women's and Children's Center, and truly appreciate the support and understanding.
