What is Sutter Health? back to top
Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is proud to be a part of Sutter Health, a family of not-for-profit hospitals and physician organizations in Northern California that share resources and expertise to advance health care quality. Together, they serve over three million people and care for more inpatients than any other network in Northern California.

Unlike investor-owned health care systems, Sutter Health is a not-for-profit organization. As such, any money left over after employees and bills have been paid is reinvested in health care.
