Here are some highlights of philanthropy at work last year:

Programs and Services
Breast Cancer Navigator
$207,163 – funding a breast cancernavigator, a trained registered nursewho guided 315 women and two menthrough treatment and recovery. Sheassisted 19 women whose disease hadrecurred; five women who underwenta prophylactic mastectomy andassisted another 238 patients withnon-cancerous disease.

Child Life/Pediatrics
$38,955 – helping more than 8,600pediatric patients and their familiescope with the stress of hospitalizationand medical treatment through ChildLife Specialists and special events.

Programs for Cancer Patients
$476,726 – offering a broad rangeof free programs, serving more than2,600 cancer patients and theirfamilies last year.

Sutter Samaritan
$74,194 – Connecting over 475uninsured low income patientsrecently discharged from the hospitalwith needed items and services,including medications, durablemedical equipment, clothing,temporary lodging and transportation.

Sutter Resource Library
$182,793 – supporting a free resourcefor reliable, up-to-date medicalinformation for more than 3,000patients, community members,staff and physicians.
