Here are some highlights of philanthropy at work last year:
Programs and Services
Breast Cancer Navigator
$207,163 – funding a breast cancer navigator, a trained registered nurse who guided 315 women and two men through treatment and recovery. She assisted 19 women whose disease had recurred; five women who underwent a prophylactic mastectomy and assisted another 238 patients with non-cancerous disease.
Child Life/ Pediatrics
$38,955 – helping more than 8,600 pediatric patients and their families cope with the stress of hospitalization and medical treatment through child life specialists and special events.
Programs for Cancer Patients
$476,726 – offering a broad range of free programs, serving more than 2,600 cancer patients and their families last year.
$74,194 – Connecting over 475 uninsured low income patients recently discharged from the hospital with needed items and services, including medications, durable medical equipment, clothing, temporary lodging and transportation.
Sutter Resource Library
$182,793 – supporting a free resource for reliable, up-to-date medical information for more than 3,000 patients, community members, staff and physicians.
