    Sutter Center for Psychiatry

    I need a psychiatrist. Can you make an appointment for me to see one?
    Sutter Center for Psychiatry provides facility based inpatient and outpatient services. We do not provide individual outpatient appointment or referrals.to a psychiatrist. The best way to find a psychiatrist is by referral from your primary care physician. Call your doctor and request a list of psychiatrists who are available through your insurance plan. If you do not have health insurance, you can contact Sacramento County Mental Health Services at 916-875-1000.

    If you feel you need urgent help, we can schedule an interview at Sutter Center for Psychiatry with one of our intake counselors.

    I need my medications adjusted and evaluated. Can you do that for me?
    Sutter Center for Psychiatry does not have outpatient psychiatrists or medical doctors to provide medication evaluations or adjustments. The only time our psychiatrists see patients is when they are admitted on an acute level to one of our units.

    I need a referral to a support group. Can you provide that?
    For a list of resources to which we refer, please see the classes & support groups section of this site. If you would like more information, please call us at (916) 386-3000.

    I need advice. Can you help me?
    We provide crisis intervention to assist people in emergencies through our central intake services at (916) 386-3620. If you call that number, our professional staff can discuss what services we have available that may be appropriate, but we cannot provide any counseling over the phone.

    I need an assessment to come into the hospital. What should I do?
    Please call (916) 386-3620to speak with a mental health professional. Our staff will listen and direct you to the next appropriate step.

    Do you take my insurance?
    For a list of all health insurance providers and plans accepted by Sutter Center for Psychiatry, please see the list. If you do not see your health plan listed there but feel certain you are covered, you may call us at (916) 386-3620 and ask.
