    Jesse Tamplen Joins Sutter Center for Psychiatry
    As Director of Behavioral Health

    Sacramento, Calif. - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Jesse Tamplen has joined Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento’s team as the new director of behavioral health at Sutter Center for Psychiatry in Sacramento, the regional leader in providing psychiatric and mental health services to adults, adolescents and children.

    In his new position, Tamplen will oversee therapeutic and outpatient services at Sutter Center for Psychiatry.

    “Our goal is to put patients and families first and always, and to enhance our programs to increase wellness and recovery to the individuals and families we serve,” said Tamplen.

    Tamplen received his Master of Social Welfare degree from the University of California, Berkeley and is extensively trained in cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, recovery-oriented services and mindfulness-based behavioral therapy.

    Tamplen has presented nationally on community mental health treatment and recovery services, and has worked with a variety of health care systems to enhance their services in wellness and recovery-oriented approaches.

    In addition to his specialty training, Tamplen was awarded the Paola Timiras Award from University of California, Berkeley for outstanding research in the field of aging. Additionally, he was awarded the John A. Hartford Foundation Master of Social Welfare Fellowship, designed by New York Academy of Medicine to develop public sector leaders who have an expertise in gerontology and the unique challenges older adults face in today’s society.

    Tamplen and his wife are in the process of relocating to Sacramento from the Bay Area. With his in-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations governing aspects of behavioral health care and extensive experience in the mental health field, Sutter Center for Psychiatry is proud to welcome Tamplen aboard.
